If the cooler weather brings out your appetite, check out the 24th Annual Taste of the North Country—where you can sample a variety of foods from 30 to 40 of the North Country’s best restaurants—on Sunday, Oct. 2, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Glens Falls City Park.
“Each year the event brings in roughly 6,500 people, and raises approximately $45,000, to be 100-percent donated back to local causes,” co-chair Craig Seybolt says. “The restaurants are the heart and soul of the event, and we are extremely appreciative that they support us as much as they do.”
For lots of locals, this event has become a staple family activity similar to The Adirondack Balloon Festival, which is the week prior. New participants this year include Kelly’s Roots in Queensbury and The Grateful Den in Glens Falls. Returning to showcase their talents are the Anvil Inn and Docksider, Dizzy Chicken, Davidson Brothers, Siam Thai, Dunham’s Bay Resort, The Merrill Magee and The Chez Pierre.
“We continue to push our focus towards a strong family-friendly atmosphere,” says Seybolt. They’ve added a bounce house, sponsored by Stewart’s Shops, and a coupon savings pack sponsored by the Queensbury Hotel. Jonathon Newell and others from the Hudson River Music Hall will perform at the bandstand.
All proceeds benefit community service projects of the Kiwanis Club of Glens Falls. For more information, visit glensfallstaste.com.
