Betsayda Machado y La Parranda El Clavo kick off Proctors’ Passport Series

The first concert of the inaugural Passport Series, which invites patrons to “travel the world one concert at a time,” Betsayda Machado y La Parranda El Clavo will take to the Proctors stage in a blast of Venezuelan Afro-Soul. Described by New York Times music critic Jon Pareles as “The kind of group that world-music fans have always been thrilled to discover: vital, accomplished, local, unplugged, deeply rooted,” the band performs a blend of African-influenced grooves, call-and-response choruses and politically aware lyrics.

Tickets are $25 and are available at the Proctors Box Office, by phone at (518) 346-6204 and at proctors.org.
