For me, Saratoga is the perfect middle ground, both geographically and categorically, between the country and the city. The downtown is small, the yards are large and the horse to car ratio is just right. In one weekend I can go out for amazing food — usually at Cantina, see yet another O.A.R. concert at SPAC and still make it up to Keene Valley for a Sunday scramble up Giant Mountain.
