Home Made Theater will open its 33rd season with Peter and the Starcatcher, the prequel to the story of Peter Pan.
The musical runs from Oct. 14-29 in the Spa Little Theater in Saratoga Spa State Park in Saratoga Springs.
Peter and the Starcatcher tells the tale of a young orphan who is shipped off from Victorian England to a distant island. On the way, he and his friends find a trunk in the captain’s cabin of the boat containing “starstuff,” a powerful celestial substance. The fun begins when the boat is taken over by pirates who are after the trunk.
Based on the 2004 novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, the play is suitable for younger audiences but most enjoyable for ages 10 and up.
Bob Berenis is the director and Richard Cherry is musical director.
Shows are scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 14, 20, 21, 27 and 28 and at 2 p.m. on Oct. 15, 22 and 29. Evening performances are $29 and matinees are $26. Longfellows Restaurant is offering a special three-course dinner for $23 after the matinees and before evening performances.
