Saratoga Hospital Benefit Draws Big Spenders – for a Good Cause

It’s no secret that the Saratoga Hospital’s Annual Summer Gala is among the most important charitable fundraisers of the Capital Region’s summer season; last year’s gala raised over $300,000 for the Saratoga Community Health Center, where underinsured individuals and families can receive top-tier primary care at affordable prices.

This year’s 35th annual auction and elegant buffet, held under a sprawling white tent at the Polo Meadows at Saratoga Casino Hotel, again benefited the Health Center in downtown Saratoga Springs. A highlight of the evening were the traditional silent and live auctions, embellished with an “Adirondack Summer” theme, overseen by co-chairpersons Stephanie Collins and Jennifer Perry and honorary chairpersons Marylou Whitney and John Hendrickson.

The evening’s big winners were Robert and Lisa Moser, who, with a generous offer of $10,000, earned a place on the plaque at the base of Saratoga Hospital’s statue commemorating its supporters, along with a specially designed lawn jockey signed by Marylou Whitney. Other notable winners included Maureen Lewi, who won a one-week luxury stay in Lake George ($7,000); Alysa Arnold, who won a cocktail party for 40 at Adelphi ($7,000); and David Collins, who won a chef’s dinner for ten at the Wishing Well Restaurant, including wine pairings and customized floral décor ($6,500).
