Short films in the Cubist film tradition

European filmmakers Fernand Léger, Hans Richter and Oskar Fischinger examine the influence of the Cubist movement in film in these early avant-garde shorts. The artists came to filmmaking from other artistic practices, and their films are some of the most influential experiments in film, including Léger’s Ballet Mécanique.
