Saratoga Springs has long been a wellness destination. But taking the waters isn’t the only way to live healthfully here—you can taste the harvest too, thanks to an abundance of local, farm-fresh food options. Make a commitment to weave local produce into your weekly routine, and you’ll support regional agriculture and your own health. Here’s how to take advantage, any day of the week.

1. Get to know your growers

The Saratoga Farmers’ Market

May–October: High Rock Park, Saturdays 9am–1pm and Wednesdays 3–6pm

• This gathering of growers has been a Saratoga mainstay since 1978. Come to fill your bag with veggies and your vase with flowers, then stay for the live music and the friends you’ll run into.

• This year, the nonprofit Comfort Food Community expanded its Farm 2 Library program to Saratoga Springs Public Library, offering free fresh produce and nutritious food while underscoring community connection. The program is completely open-access—just show up and take what you need.

4. Pick it Yourself

• There’s more to love at this farm than their rare, heirloom hand melons. Pick-your-own-veggies season kicks off on Labor Day weekend and includes tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, squash, and more.
