Every year, the day before Halloween, one ordinary house on Caroline Street becomes the physical embodiment of all things spooky, sinister, and spine-tingling. More than 1,000 trick-or-treaters come from far and wide, working up the courage, year over year, to make the terrifying walk past the skeletons, grim reapers, and ghouls, to the front door. The next day, the house is back to normal, like the creatures from the underworld were never even there.
