Empire Media Network (EMN), the parent company behind Saratoga Living and Capital Region Living as well as direct-mailed advertising guides Saratoga’s Best and the forthcoming Washington County’s Best, today announced that EMN President Tina Galante and Vice President Natalie Moore have become partners in the business, joining Chairman Anthony Ianniello, Esq. as owners of the company. With the move, the two women who lead the day-to-day operations and editorial direction of the 518’s premier lifestyle media brands now hold an ownership stake in the company they helped build—making EMN an employee-owned and woman-owned media company.
The announcement comes just months after Galante and Moore were promoted to their current leadership roles in April. Ianniello, who purchased Saratoga Living in 2017 and acquired Capital Region Living in 2019, chose to bring the pair into ownership in recognition of the years they have spent guiding the company through a pandemic, a shifting media landscape, and its transformation into a full-fledged multimedia platform.
“From the day I bought Saratoga Living, my goal was to build something that would outlast any one person—something that truly belonged to this community,” said Ianniello. “Tina and Natalie have already been running this company as if it were their own. Now it is. There’s no one I trust more to carry these magazines into the future, and I couldn’t be prouder to call them my partners.”
Galante, who joined Capital Region Living in 2016 and has overseen operations for both publications since EMN was formed in 2019, will continue to lead the company’s business operations, including finances, management, and sales.
“When the people who work on the magazine every day also own it, it makes a big difference,” Galante said. “It means the people making decisions about what we publish and how we support our communities truly care about the work. I’m thankful to Tony for believing in us, and I’m excited to see what we can accomplish together.”
Moore, who began her career at Saratoga Living as an intern in 2016 and rose through the ranks to Editor in Chief, will continue to serve as Editor of both magazines while helping steer the direction of the company as a whole.
“For nearly a decade, Tony has been an unwavering champion of the arts, local journalism, and the Capital Region community as a whole,” said Moore. “I’m so grateful to him for his ongoing support and unwavering faith in Tina, myself, and the entire EMN team. Working for a magazine is all I’ve ever done and all I’ve ever wanted to do. The fact that I now own the magazine at which I started my career—a magazine that serves the community I’m so proud to call home—is a dream come true.”
Galante and Moore will continue to be supported by Saratoga Living Advertising Director Annette Quarrier, Capital Region Living Advertising Director Teresa Frazer, and Sales Managers Tara Buffa, Renae McKittrick, and Abby Juracka. Gates Sisters Studio will continue to serve as the magazines’ design firm alongside Maria Mann, who recently joined the team to assist with graphic design.
